Women make four times the number of suicide attempts that men do, but men are four times as successful.  Separation and divorce can really exacerbate your problem, guys.

Here are three things that make our grizzly statistics worse: 1) We have more access to guns than women, in our American gun culture.  2) We are generally more perfectionistic: If you want to do it, be sure to do it right.  3) Also the suicide rate among veterans (mostly men) is much higher than among civilians.

Woman are far more likely to reach out for help than men.  Please don’t add to the male suicide statistics.  The solution can be as easy as reaching out to your family doc to get an anti-depressant.  It really can be that easy.  Asking for help is NOT UNMANLY.  What takes guts is to ask.
